Singapore has launched OCEANS-X, a new data and application programming interface (API) exchange platform developed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to enable secure system-to-system connectivity across the maritime ecosystem.
The platform allows shipping companies and government agencies to exchange trusted data directly, supporting the development of integrated digital services aimed at improving port operations, trade flows and connectivity with global ports.
One of the first services introduced is digital port clearance. Previously, ship masters and agents submitted documentation through the digitalPORT@SG system.
With OCEANS-X, shipping companies and agents can now link in-house or third-party systems directly to MPA platforms, enabling automated transmission of port clearance data.
