The focus of this year’s United Nations Open-ended Informal Consultative Process on Oceans and the Law of the Sea (ICP) meeting from 6 to 10 April was ‘Oceans and sustainable development: Integration of the three dimensions of sustainable development, namely, environmental, social and economic’.
With the high-level UN Summit on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set for the 25–27 September, the SDG process and proposed indicators was one of the key focal points at the ICP’s sixteenth meeting. The adoption of a stand-alone goal for oceans is critical if the importance of the ocean and its linkages in all three areas of sustainable development is to be emphasized in the post-2015 development agenda.

La búsqueda de los subsaharianos se reanuda hoy
El helicóptero y la embarcación de Salvamento Marítimo que trabajaron ayer tarde en la búsqueda de una patera en la que viajarían 23 personas en el Mar de Alborán, se retiraron pasadas las 19.30 horas, aunque el patrullero Vigía de la Armada Española continuó con el rastreo. Fuentes del organismo público han informado a Efe de que reanudarán la búsqueda de la patera hoy a las 06.00 horas.
La presencia de abundante niebla en la zona dificultaron los trabajos durante la tarde debido a la "escasa visibilidad", han precisado. En esta patera viajarían unos 23 inmigrantes de origen subsahariano, cuatro de ellos mujeres, que partieron desde Bouyafar (Marruecos), la pasada madrugada, según informó una cooperante a Salvamento Marítimo a las 14 horas. En el operativo han participado un helicóptero y dos embarcaciones.
