The Sealite PEL installed at a major Australian port
Sealite has introduced a new 5 degree LED Sectored Port Entry Light, which provides an overall 5 degree beam width and over 500,000cd of lighting power at only 30watts electrical consumption.
The PEL has a night-time visible range of over 23NM and day-time visible range of over 5NM, and is designed specifically to suit high-precision sector applications with a typical measured changeover between colour sectors of one minute of arc.
The LEDs can be configured for automatic night time dimming to eliminate the requirement for moving filters, and can also be individually flashed to reduce the need

The new MCR cradle from Fibrelight Developments
If several people end up in the water after an accident at sea, it can take many stressful hours to recover them.
However a new mass casualty recovery cradle (MCR cradle) to be launched in the spring from Fibrelight Developments aims to not only make it quicker but also easier to recover casualties.
The development of the cradle began after Seawork 2014 explained business development manager Ben Shepherd in response to new Solas and IMO regulations.
“The new cradles are particularly suitable for offshore support vessels and passenger ferries,” he explained. “We are always bringing out new developments and this cradle is the latest, designed in line with the new requirements

Un horizonte de regeneración, aunque la arena poco a poco se va sumergiendo en las aguas. La playa se desangra después de haber sido sometida a un brutal saqueo de arena
La playa se va deslizando lentamente hacia el fondo de la ensenada, hacia las grandes "pozas· practicadas frente a El Musel.
Las medidas de desvío del cauce del río Piles, el taponamiento forzado del ojo occidental del puente, el arrastre de arena seca contra el cauce del río y otra serie de medidas de manicura playera, se ha demostrado que además de caras, resultan inútiles. Los resultados están a la vista. Y los temporales, que siempre los ha habido, no son los responsables de una situación sin precedentes...
Una draga de grandes dimensiones succiono millones de m3 de arena frente a la principal playa de Gijón.
