Update: Strategic Coordinating Group Established in Response to Oil Spill

His Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar has swiftly established a Strategic Coordinating Group following the recent oil spill in Gibraltar Bay. Chaired by Minister for Civil Contingencies Samantha Sacramento, the group includes Minister for the Port Vijay Daryanani and Minister for Environment John Cortes. The inaugural meeting was held at No 6 Convent Place.

El fuego podría haberse iniciado en uno de los vehículos eléctricos y se propagó rápidamente al resto, cree la Guardia Costera de Países Bajos.

Al menos una persona ha muerto y otras 16 han resultado heridas en un incendio declarado en un buque de carga en el Mar del Norte, a unos treinta kilómetros de la costa de Países Bajos, que viajaba desde Alemania con destino a Egipto con unos 3.000 automóviles a bordo.

Poor watchkeeping aboard a jet-driven superyacht and a cargo ship off the Bahamas has, once again, highlighted the need for crew to keep a proper and effective lookout at all times. 

 

In December 2021, the 62m (205ft) jet-driven superyacht Utopia IV and 48m (159ft) tanker Tropic Breeze collided while travelling in the same direction in the same channel, 20 miles northwest of the Bahamas.

Utopia IV was travelling at around 20kn with seven passengers and 13 crew on board, while Tropic Breeze was ahead, travelling at around 5kn and carrying a cargo of thousands of gallons of marine gas oil (MGO), gasoline and liquid petroleum gas.

Las autoridades nigerianas incautaron y destruyeron un pequeño petrolero supuestamente por robar petróleo de un pozo en alta mar en el estado de Ondo. 

El petrolero, identificado como Tura II (ex nombre Ali Riza Bey, IMO 6620462), fue capturado por el contratista Tantita Security Services en una ubicación en alta mar, según NNPC. Después de que el barco fuera incautado y la tripulación detenida, el barco fue destruido por un helicóptero militar nigeriano, sin procedimientos judiciales. Las imágenes de video fueron capturadas por personal de seguridad .

Fire on Grimaldi's conro spread overnight and is expected to burn for days

The fire aboard Grimaldi’s conro Grande Costa D’Avorio is expected to burn for days according to a new update from the U.S. Coast Guard which is now leading a Unified Command. They are reporting that the fire is contained, but that the area is too hot to reach and for now all they can do is continue perimeter cooling.

The 692-foot conro was completing the loading of approximately 1,200 vehicles at Port Newark, New Jersey on July 5 when the fire was discovered. Initially, the fire involved just five to seven cars but quickly spread. The fire started on Deck
