El conglomerado danés AP Moller-Maersk, dueño de Maersk Line, uno de los principales operadores de transporte marítimo de mercancías, logró un beneficio neto atribuido de 29.198 millones de dólares (27.236 millones de euros) en 2022, lo que supone un avance del 62,7% respecto del resultado contabilizado en 2021, informó la empresa, que anticipa una corrección del mercado de contenedores de hasta el 2,5% en 2023.

Danish marine pump specialist Svanehøj has received an order to provide fuel pumps for eight multifueled pure car truck carriers (PCTCs).
As explained, the order includes 16 deepwell fuel pumps. The eight new PCTCs will be constructed at China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu). Each vessel will have the capacity to transport more than 9,000 units.
According to the company, the new ships will be among the most environmentally friendly PCTCs ever built and will be prepared to operate on LNG, ammonia, and methanol.
“As a … subcontractor for this great project, we are proud to contribute with our patented and future-proof deepwell fuel pump system, which is compatible with all liquified gas fuels,” Svanehøj stated.
Italian shipping major Grimaldi has lifted the option for the construction of an additional five ammonia-ready Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessels at China Merchants Heavy Industries Jiangsu.
The first five vessels were ordered in October 2022 under a contract with included an option for additional five units, for a total investment of approximately 1 billion euros.
The concept of the new buildings was developed by the Grimaldi Group in collaboration with the Knud E. Hansen naval design. The vessels have received the Ammonia Ready class notation from Italian shipping register RINA, which certifies that the ships are designed for eventual conversion for the use of ammonia as marine fuel.
