As the first vials of approved COVID-19 vaccine finally make their appearance in Western nations, sophisticated criminals are gearing up to target the vaccine logistics system, warns INTERPOL. The international crime agency has issued an alert to law enforcement in nearly 200 member countries around the globe, warning them to prepare for organized crime networks targeting COVID-19 vaccines.

“As governments are preparing to roll out vaccines, criminal organizations are planning to infiltrate or disrupt supply chains," said Jürgen Stock, INTERPOL's Secretary General. “It is essential that law enforcement is as prepared as possible for what will be an onslaught of all types of criminal activity linked to the COVID-19 vaccine."

Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) ships are examples of the unfortunate link between inadequate investment and capability gaps. The RCN, and Canadians, deserve clear, realistic and fully-funded commitments from our governments. We are now in the

Trump looking to loosen safety rules for Arctic Ocean drilling

  • AUTHORITIES & GOVERNMENT
November 20, 2020, by Bojan Lepic

In a last-ditch effort to open up more acreage for offshore drilling, the Trump administration proposed to loosen Obama-era safety regulations for the oil industry in the Arctic Ocean off Alaska.

With 60 days until President-elect Joe Biden takes office on 20 January, the Trump administration has little time to ease any rules dictating petroleum extraction in the Alaskan region.

Before anything else is said, it is worth noting that whatever move Trump makes towards enabling more offshore drilling Biden is likely to throw it out once he is in the Oval office.
