Reflecting on its milestones as the ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations) chair for 2023, Indonesia is reporting it has successfully negotiated for finalizing of a code of conduct (CoC) in the disputed South China Sea between all ASEAN countries and China.
Suring its ASEAN chairmanship this year, Indonesia has worked on guidelines to aid in resolving the South China Sea dispute with China. These guidelines were adopted on July 13 in Jakarta, during the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ meeting with Wang Yi, the director of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Committee Foreign Affairs Commission Office.

Ukrainian officer working on an MSC ship rescued 20 hours after going overboard (DGM)
Turkey’s General Directorate of Maritime Affairs is highlighting that a Turkish cargo ship completed a miraculous rescue of a seafarer who had been adrift in the Black Sea for up to 20 hours. The video of the recovery of the officer who fell from an MSC containership is being broadly circulated in the Turkish media.
The MSC containership MSC Nadriely (33,977 dwt) registered in Liberia departed Poti Port, Georgia on August 28 and was sailing along the northern coast of Turkey bound for Istanbul. The ship which is 682 feet long carries 2,468 TEU.

El buque Río Tajo de la Guardia Civil lleva desde el jueves fondeado con 168 migrantes a bordo en la bahía de Nouadhibou, en Mauritania. El buque se encuentra a la espera de que avancen las negociaciones entre las autoridades para proceder al desembarco de migrantes en el país africano, según informan fuentes del Ministerio del Interior.
