3,174 maritime casualties and incidents reported in 2019
EMSA released its annual review of maritime casualties reporting the total of 3,174 casualties and incidents, highlighting that in the last 5 years the average number of marine casualties or incidents recorded in EMCIP is 3239; The number of very serious casualties has been steady over the last five years.

Overall, 2017's maritime casualties were a total of 3,301, whereas in 2018 EMSA reported of a decrease in marine casualties, in comparison to the previous year.

Hallan el cuerpo de otro de los tripulantes del 'Rúa Mar'
El cuerpo sin vida aparecido flotando en el mar en la mañana de este martes, sobre las 11,30 horas, en un punto de "difícil acceso" en la zona del paraje Punta de Oliveros, entre Algeciras y Tarifa (Cádiz), pertenece a uno de los tripulantes del pesquero 'Rúa Mar', desaparecido la pasada semana, según han confirmado fuentes cercanas a los familiares.
Ha sido la sala del 112 la que ha recibido una llamada alertando de que el cuerpo de una persona se hallaba en el agua flotando, por lo que se dio aviso a los servicios sanitarios

The Accident Investigation Board Norway (AIBN), the Defence Accident Investigation Board Norway (DAIBN) together with the Marine Safety Investigation Unit of Malta and the Spanish Standing Commission for Maritime Accident and Incident Investigations (CIAIM) have conducted a joint investigation for the collision of the frigate HNoMS Helge Ingstad and the oil tanker Sola TS.

The incident
In the early hours of Thursday, November 8 2018, the frigate HNoMS Helge Ingstad, with 137 conscripts and permanent crew on board, and the tanker Sola TS, with 24 people on board and operated by the Greek shipping company Tsakos Columbia Shipmanagement (TCM) S.A. collided in the Hjeltefjord.
A total of seven watch standing personnel, including two trainees, were present on the bridge
