Une première déjà conclue avec les capitaines et officiers en mars

ET de deux pour Boluda Tanger Med! La société en charge de l’exploitation des services de remorquage au sein de l’enceinte portuaire Tanger Med a signé, la semaine dernière, une deuxième convention collective. Cette fois, l’accord concerne le personnel marin des remorqueurs et des pilotines.

«Le principal apport de cet accord reste la paix sociale», explique Christophe Bommelaer, directeur général de Boluda Tanger Med. No one is injured as the crew aboard Westerdam helps extinguish the flames

(SEATTLE) — The Holland America cruise ship Westerdam returned to port Saturday after a fire in the boiler room, The Seattle Times reported. The fire started about 5 p.m. near Kingston in Puget Sound as the ship was bound for Alaska. A combination of high-pressure mist and crewmembers using hoses extinguished the fire, said a Seattle Fire Department spokesman. No one was injured and no evacuations were needed

On a morning voyage out of Bainbridge Island, loaded with Seattle-bound commuters, the Washington State Ferries boat Tacoma inches out of its Eagle Harbor berth. Chief engineer of the ship is the head of the engine room department and the sole controlling authority for all machinery systems of the ship. He has the responsibility to ensure that all the systems of the ship function smoothly without any breakdown.

 

For this reason, while assigning duties of handling a ship, the chief engineer is required to go through a specific procedure to ensure safety of the new ship and its personnel.

The procedure for “taking over” of a large vessel is often divided into several steps starting from the briefing at the shipping office to that on the vessel.
