Schiebel Camcopter® S-100 performs maritime surveillance for Royal Danish Navy

Vienna, 25 May 2022 – The Royal Danish Navy (RDN) is operating the Schiebel CAMCOPTER® S-100 for maritime surveillance. The Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) service is delivered by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA).

Stationed in Denmark’s northernmost town Skagen, the CAMCOPTER® S-100 is supporting the RDN alongside other national authorities in carrying out various maritime surveillance tasks, including detecting, verifying and providing information on potential oil spills and discharges at sea.

All data gathered from the flights is shared live through the EMSA RPAS Data Centre allowing users to monitor any unusual activity at sea with a potentially harmful impact on the safety and security of persons and

Schiebel Camcopter S-100 con colores de Salvamento Marítimo en la presentación en Barcelona de ISAR.

Salvamento marítimo (SASEMAR) incorpora Schiebel Campcopter S-100 para desarrollar sus capacidades SAR con UAV.

La Sociedad de Seguridad y Salvamento Marítimo (SASEMAR), del Ministerio de Transportes, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana (MITMA) ha adjudicado a la firma austríaca Schiebel un contrato para el suministro de UAV Camcopter S-100, con los que quiere seguir con el programa de I+D  de sus capacidades SAR sobre el mar.

La compra de estos drones se encuadra dentro del proyecto ISAR, el  cual: “tiene como objetivo mejorar el desempeño y eficiencia de los servicios de salvamento mediante la innovación en las prestaciones y capacidades de las unidades marítimas, aéreas y centros de coordinación; desarrollo de sensores inteligentes, incorporación de aeronaves no tripuladas, mejora de la transmisión

AISSat-1 is a 6 kg Norwegian nanosatellite, being constructed on behalf of government of Norway by UTIAS/SFL, whose primary mission is to investigate the feasibility and performance of a spacecraft-based Automatic Identification System (AIS) sensor in low-Earth orbit as a means of tracking maritime assets, and the integration of space-based AIS data into a national maritime tracking information system. AISSat-1 is intended as both a research and development platform, and a demonstration mission for a larger operational capability.

The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a self-organizing TMDA radio communication system used for the identification and location of maritime vessels. AIS transponders are required by the International Maritime Organization on all vessels over 300 tons and all passenger vessels.
