September 23, 2025

Oceanology International has issued a Call for Content reminder as it prepares to unite leading voices in ocean innovation and technology for its curated conference programme in March 2026 at London’s ExCeL.

Renowned for insightful discussion on the latest innovations and pressing challenges in ocean science and technology, the Oceanology International (Oi) Technical Conference offers a unique platform for industry pioneers. With up to 10,000 attendees and 500 exhibitors from around the world, Oi provides an excellent stage to set the agenda and showcase expertise before a highly engaged global audience.

The Call for Content is a cornerstone of Oi’s mission to foster learning and connection, reflecting the most topical issues shaping the future of ocean innovation and addressing emerging economic needs. In line with the new COAST focus launching at Oi26, next year’s conference will expand to include dedicated sessions showcasing the critical coastal and shallow water sectors, highlighting breakthrough developments in coastal protection, erosion control, sediment transport analysis, shoreline stabilization and climate adaptation that support sustainable coastal development and ecosystem protection.

Additional key topics expected to feature high on the agenda for in-depth analysis include uncrewed vehicles and vessels, offshore site characterization and ocean observation and measurement.

Call for abstracts

Technologists, scientists, engineers, industry leaders and organizations are invited to submit their abstracts for consideration for the three-day Oi26 programme as soon as possible to secure their place on stage among the elite innovators and professionals shaping the future of ocean science and coastal resilience.

The selected presentations and speakers will feature in the main conference schedule across a diverse series of technical sessions, including slots at the prominent Ocean Futures Theatre, a 200-seat hub on the exhibition floor that focuses on emerging technologies, market trends and strategies for new ocean enterprises.

Mehraj Hassan, Oi26 conference manager, said: “The Oi Technical Conference is acclaimed for painting the big picture of what ocean technologies will look like in the future. It is an unmissable opportunity for professionals to make waves in the industry and stand out as a driving force in shaping ocean innovation in the years ahead.

“With only a few weeks remaining until we close the campaign, we encourage anyone who wants to showcase their expertise and knowledge to a captivated audience to respond to our Call for Content now. The successful applicants will join an array of talented, world-class specialists and innovators at the vanguard of the global ocean technology community, whose voices will stand out at Oi26. With the added dimension of the new coastal focus, the conference promises to once again address the most challenging issues facing our industry.”

Prospective speakers for the Oi26 Technical Conference are invited to submit their abstracts of 300 to 500 words by 16 October via this link. The submissions will be reviewed by a panel of experts in the field and selected speakers will have the chance to present their ideas, research findings and case studies to a global audience of peers, stakeholders and potential collaborators. Notification of acceptance will be confirmed by 2 December, with final presentations due by 10 February.

Oi26 is also requesting that industry leaders apply to moderate and curate the individual technical sessions.
