General Description:
This 19m Fishing Trawler has revolutionised the mindset for “small boat” fishing in New Zealand. It has been designed to fish the varied conditions and fishing grounds particular to the East Coast South Island of New Zealand, ranging in depth from 10m to 1200m and is suitable for similar fisheries around the world.
The vessel will economically operate in a wide range of fishing areas from traditional inshore “market” fishing through to deepsea / offshore fisheries. It is capable of handling high volume fish such as Squid, Hoki, and Red Cod in season, while also maintaining the ability to operate economically with smaller quantities of traditionally higher value / market species. Net Rollers and Winch Configuration will ensure that this vessel can easily adapt to the conditions, changing mid water or bottom trawl nets as and when required.
Designed to operate with a Skipper and 3 crew, this vessel has accommodation for Skipper and 5 crew enabling additional crew and observers to be carried as may be required. The layout and equipment provided will ensure that fish is handled in such a way as to provide safe operating conditions for the crew, while also maintaining high quality fish, which will increase the returns available to the vessel owner.
A Big Little Ship – This trawler incorporates features traditionally reserved for the large factory fishing trawlers. This vessel will deliver quality and economy that can only lead to increased profitability.
