Gazprom Neft presentó el primer buque de carga y descarga de GNL de barco a barco de Rusia, luego que se completara la etapa principal en la construcción, incluido el montaje del casco y la instalación de tanques de combustible de GNL y otros sistemas auxiliares, en un tiempo récord.

 

 

La embarcación se ha trasladado al muelle para la instalación final de los sistemas y controles de navegación, y la instalación de salas de equipos clave. Las pruebas en el mar están previstas para la primavera de 2021.

El buque de abastecimiento de GNL, nombrado en honor al químico e investigador ruso Dmitry Mendeleev, se unirá a la flota de Gazprom Neft en la segunda mitad de 2021.

South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to build 10 LNG-powered very large crude carriers (VLCCs) for an undisclosed European client, Business Korea reported citing the shipyard.

If the contract for the ten 300,000-ton dual fuel VLCCs moves forward, its value could hit KRW 1.1 trillion ($1 billion), with each tanker estimated to be worth around $100 million.

Based on the report, DSME expects to finalize the deal in the first quarter of 2021.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has set ambitious targets for decarbonisation that will tighten over the next three decades: from a reduction of at least 40pc by 2030 to 70pc by 2050. LNG is increasingly seen as a solution in the near term, with substantial decarbonisation benefits and the most developed supply globally of any alternative to bunker fuel. Mitsui OSK Lines, Ltd. (MOL) anunció que un sistema de generación de energía de ciclo binario para barcos, desarrollado junto a Kobe Steel, inició sus pruebas tras su instalación en un buque transportador de mineral (VLOC).

El proyecto marca la primera aplicación del sistema en un buque de este tipo y se busca confirmar el rendimiento y la durabilidad del sistema en condiciones reales de funcionamiento en el mar.

El sistema se basa en el calor residual al enfriar el aire de barrido para el motor principal de la embarcación, un enfoque que rara vez se ha utilizado en el pasado. Puede generar hasta aproximadamente 100 kW de potencia calentando y evaporando el medio de trabajo, que tiene un punto de ebullición más bajo

The European Hydrogen Forum, the first assembly of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, announced as part of the new industrial strategy for Europe in March and launched in July 2020 together with the EU Hydrogen Strategy, will take place on 26-27 November. Attended by Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans, Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton, Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson and Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel, this high-level event focuses on how to help EU hydrogen research and industry to achieve EU's climate neutrality goals. Already joined by over 800 key stakeholders, the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance aims at an ambitious deployment of green hydrogen technologies in Europe by 2030, bringing together renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production and demand in industry, mobility and other sectors, and hydrogen transmission and distribution.
