Dos navieras inician sus servicios en el Estrecho a las 06:00 horas

Según han informado a Efe fuentes portuarias, FRS adelanta desde hoy su primera salida a las 06:00 horas -hasta ahora lo hacía a las 09:00 horas- con motivo de la llegada del verano, para lo cual emplea un barco de alta velocidad que enlaza ambas orillas en unos 40 minutos.

Mientras tanto, la naviera Balearia también ha optado por iniciar sus viajes a las 06:00 horas en lugar de las 07:30 horas, utilizando el buque "Passió per Formentera", un ferry convencional que realiza el trayecto en una hora y quince minutos.

La decisión de las dos navieras motiva que ambos buques tengan que pernoctar todas las noches en Ceuta para llevar a cabo este primer servicio del día, en lugar de tener

Aker Philadelphia Shipyard, Inc. (APSI), the sole operating subsidiary of Aker Philadelphia Shipyard ASA (AKPS), has delivered the first of two aframax tankers to SeaRiver Maritime, Inc. (SeaRiver), Exxon Mobil Corporation’s U.S. marine affiliate, the shipbuilding company said in a press release. The 820 foot long, 115,000 deadweight ton tanker will transport up to 800,000 barrels of Alaskan North Slope crude oil from Prince William Sound, Alaska to the U.S. West Coast. On June 4 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) delivered the cargo-passenger ship "Tachibana-Maru" to Tokai Kisen Co., Ltd. at its Shimonoseki Shipyard and Machinery Works, the Company said Wednesday in a press release.
The vessel is a "super eco-ship" with a high-efficiency propulsion system that achieves outstanding energy savings, environmental load reduction, and enhanced passenger comfort and safety. The ship also features a fresh new color scheme of yellow ocher and olive green designed by Ryohei Yanagihara, a well-known Japanese illustrator who is also an honorary captain at Tokai Kisen.
The cargo-passenger ship measures 118.0 meters (m) in length overall (LOA), 17.0m in width, and 8.95m in height (5.40m in draft). The 5,681 gross tonnage vessel has a

A LNG JOURNAL TITLE ON LNG TANKERS 29 May 2014

ORDERS

Japanese shipping company NYK Line and Norwegian Knutsen OAS shipping, through its entity TS Shipping Invest AS (TSSI), have agreed 50/50 ownership on two LNG carriers being built for Gas Natural Fenosa charter.

 

Norway’s Knutsen OAS last May had concluded a shipbuilding deal with Hyundai Heavy Industries for two hulls for its new ship owning companies, Norspan LNG IX AS and Norspan LNG X AS.

Gas Natural selected it to manage two newbuildings for the Stream LNG fleet, formerly owned

by Spanish Repsol. The fleet is now owned by Shell.

Spanish shipping company Elcano around the same time reportedly booked two LNG newbuildings for Gas Natural charter.

The ships were signed on two time charters
