BIMCO Secretary General & CEO, David Loosley and WISTA President, Elpi Petraki met at the Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference (6-8 October) to sign an MoU that will see the two organisations working more closely to address some of the pressing issues affecting the maritime workforce – and in particular women.
As announced, BIMCO and WISTA (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on some of the monumental challenges and opportunities related to the sustainability of the workforce throughout the shipping industry, from cradle to cradle.
The agreement recognises the increasing need to sustain the shipping workforce, through safe, fair, inclusive and attractive conditions as the industry transitions towards using new fuels
