Los directores generales del astillero vigués Freire Shipyard, Marcos Freire y Guillermo Freire, así como su director de ventas, Santiago Sío, visitaron este jueves Abu Dhabi para acompañar al jeque Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representante del Gobernante en la región de Al Dhafra, en el acto de ceremonia para recibir al buque de investigación marina Jaywun. El barco, construido bajo la supervisión de Abu Dhabi Ship Building, es “el primero y más avanzado en el Medio Oriente”. Fue diseñado y fabricado para adaptarse a las condiciones marinas de la región del Golfo, caracterizadas por su poca profundidad y alta salinidad. Y antes de viajar a Abu Dhabi, hizo unas pruebas preliminares en las costas gallegas.

China Merchants Industry Holding (CMI), a manufacturing flagship of China Merchants Group, has won a contract for the construction of up to eight 180,000 cbm LNG carriers from an undisclosed European shipowner.
The company behind the contract, which includes four firm orders plus four options, is believed to be Danish shipowner Celsius Tankers. The order is being reported just a month after Celsius placed an order for an additional 180,000 cbm LNG carrier at Samsung Heavy Industries pushing its LNG carrier fleet to 14 vessels. The company has a fleet of over 45 ships, which include chemical and product tankers, and container feeders.

De acuerdo con lo publicado por Clarksons Research el pasado 10 de enero, en 2022, el 38 por ciento de los nuevos pedidos globales de construcción de buques se adjudicaron a astilleros de Corea del Sur, en donde se construyeron 289 buques con un total de 16,27 millones de CGT.
Por su parte China construyó 728 buques, con 21 millones de CGT, lo que representa el 49 de los buques construidos a nivel mundial
Actualmente China ya ocupa el primer lugar de la construcción de buques a nivel mundial.

China Shipbuilding Hengyu Energy (Shanghai), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), has completed the bunkering of three methanol-powered product tankers built by Guangzhou Shipyard International.
The 49,900-ton tankers were fueled with a total of 240 tons of methanol, a major milestone for the Chinese methanol fuelling track record.
CSSC Hengyu Energy has been active in the field of new energy marine gas/ship fuel bunkering business since January 2020. It started looking into the methanol bunkering potential in October 2021, seeing that it is rapidly developing into the most feasible, low-carbon, and low-cost alternative to conventional marine fuel.
