It's possible to outsource ship performance analysis by using a mathematical performance model where ship owners provide main dimensions and trial data that are then entered into this model and then it is run by naval architects who are analyzing the performance data from the vessels and then that data goes back to the ship owners / technical department of the company and in some cases data goes out to the ships and the crew for awareness and implementation of Hull and Propeller performance policy. In other words, there's a general mathematical model where main dimensions and trial data are entered into that model and then a specific ship model is created, the weekly performance data is analysed and there are instruments checks, procedural checks

Eco issues and P&I

P&I Clubs are involved a lot in what I like to call ECO issues. Like ship owners, Clubs are being asked to align traditional functions and practices with the increasing drive towards environmental protection and preservation. The Clubs are not set up to lead in this area. On the whole, our function as a liability insurer requires us to follow the Law and Regulation not push for its reform. The Law, in turn, is notoriously slow to advance. So, in general terms, the Clubs represent a reactive rather than proactive force where eco-issues are concerned. However, for the purposes of enhancing environmental awareness, I will now focus on the primary areas in which "ECO-issues" and P&I converge.

Seúl, 31 may (EFE).- Las autoridades surcoreanas decidieron hoy suspender las operaciones de búsqueda de los 16 cuerpos que aún permanecen desaparecidos por el hundimiento del ferri Sewol, tras el fallecimiento de un buzo de los servicios de rescate.
