Labor costs of Spanish enterprises dropped at a faster rate in the third quarter from a year ago, figures from the National Statistics Institute, or INE, showed Wednesday.

Total labor costs declined 0.4 percent year-on-year in the third quarter and stood at EUR 2450.10 per worker a month. In the second quarter, costs had decreased 0.1 percent.

The wage cost per worker per month also fell 0.1 percent annually, while other costs dropped by 1.5 percent.

Labor cost in the service sector fell 0.7 percent annually in the third quarter. Meanwhile, labor cost in the industrial sector increased 1 percent and those in the construction sector rose 0.4 percent.
