(Bloomberg) -- The world’s biggest container line will order new ships for the first time in four years as the industry shakes off its worst crisis in four decades.

Nils Smedegaard Andersen, the chief executive officer of A.P. Moeller-Maersk A/S, said the Danish company may focus on purchasing smaller vessels than it has bought in the past.

Rolls-Royce to deliver Spain's first pure-gas marine engine to Baleària

Rolls-Royce has signed a collaboration agreement with Spanish energy company Gas Natural Fenosa to develop and install a pure-gas Bergen engine aboard the Baleària-operated ferry Abel Matutes, the company said in its press release.

The contract gives Rolls-Royce its first reference for a pure-gas engine installation on a European-flagged ferry operating outside of Norwegian waters.

The 29,670 tonne ROPAX ferry, delivered in 2010 from the Hijos de J Barreras shipyard in Vigo, Spain, will use an LNG-fuelled Rolls-Royce Bergen C26:33 L6 AG auxiliary engine to generate 1560kWe of clean power, dramatically reducing emissions during port stays in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca.

An offshore supply vessel built at Arctech Helsinki Shipyard is set for Russian shipping company Sovcomflot as it looks to increase Arctic offshore activities

The naming ceremony for Aleksey Chirikov, a new arctic offshore vessel built by Arctech Helsinki Shipyard, took place on Thursday ahead of its scheduled delivery to Russian shipping company Sovcomflot next week.

 

The vessel is the second of two arctic offshore supply vessels that Arctech has built for Sovcomflot, which specialises in hydrocarbon transportation from Arctic and subarctic regions in challenging icy conditions. The first vessel of the series, NB 506 Vitus Bering,
