Stadt Stascho No-Loss diesel-electric propulsion will be used for four new SALT 450 SSVs.

Norwegian company Stadt says that it has signed a major contract with Turkish shipyard Cemre to supply electric propulsion equipment for up to four seismic support vessels. This is in addition to a similar Turkish order received earlier in 2013 from the Besiktas yard for eight systems.

The new SSVs are designed by Norwegian ship designer SALT, and will be owned and operated by the Norwegian company Norfield Vestland Offshore. The Stadt scope of supply includes the 690V main switchboards to handle four 1,000kW diesel-generators, No-Loss electric drives and the associated AC propulsion motors and power management systems.
