El Grupo CMA CGM anuncia el pedido de 22 nuevos buques

El Grupo CMA CGM, líder mundial en transporte marítimo y logística, ha realizado hoy un pedido al Grupo CSSC para:


• 6 barcos de 13.000 TEU (equivalente a veinte pies) propulsados por GNL;
• 6 buques de 15.000 TEU propulsados por GNL;
• 10 buques de 5.500 TEU propulsados por aceite de muy bajo contenido de azufre (VLSFO).
Este pedido tiene como objetivo apoyar el crecimiento del mercado. Estos buques deberían incorporarse a la flota del Grupo entre 2023 y 2024.

The U.S. Navy took delivery of a new autonomous vessel known as Seahawk. The vessel built by Virginia-based Leidos features a composite trimaran hull and is substantially larger than other U.S. Navy USVs. The vessel will join the Navy’s Surface Development Squadron (SURFDEVRON) based in San Diego which was developed to encourage innovation, experimentation, and combat readiness.

Seahawk is a long-range, high-availability autonomous surface vessel with a composite trimaran hull. According to Leidos, the medium-displacement unmanned surface vehicle (MDUSV) will enhance capabilities for naval operations. Stena Bulk Targeting Net Zero Emissions by 2050

Swedish tanker shipping company Stena Bulk on Thursday outlined its roadmap to become a net zero business by 2050, including a transiion to cleaner burning alternative fuels and eventually zero emissions shipping options.

The company set five dated decarbonization targets, the first of which was achieved in 2020 when Stena Bulk began offering customers low-carbon shipping options based on the use of biofuels and an internal carbon emissions offsetting program with up to a 100% reduction of CO2 emissions. 

Stena Bulk will require every new ship in its fleet from 2030 to come with a roadmap to be upgraded to carbon neutral status, either by retrofitting new technology or switching to carbon neutral fuels. Next year

Tidewater upgrades digitalization strategy with new Inmarsat feature

 

 

 

Inmarsat has secured a fleet-wide agreement with offshore support vessel major Tidewater to advance its digitalization strategy by upgrading the majority of its active fleet to Fleet Express. Inmarsat has developed a product roadmap of advanced vessel technology efficiencies solutions and enhanced and reliable communications for crews, which bring competitive advantages for Tidewater, Inmarsat officials said.
