Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group has signed a contract with Mexican shipping company Naviera Petrolera Integral SA de CV for the construction of three SPP17A vessels.

All of the vessels will be built at Sinopacific's Zhejiang Shipyard and are expected to be delivered before the end of 2015. They will be chartered by PEMEX, Mexico’s state-owned oil company.

This is the first time Sinopacific has built vessels for the Mexican market.

The SPP17A is a small PSV developed in-house developed by Sinopacific. It has an overall length of 61.8m, moulded breadth of 14.0m, moulded depth of 5.8m, deadweight of 1,700 tonnes, design draft of 4.3m, and accommodation for 24.

Sinopacific said the SPP17A "employs a very efficient and fuel low consumption diesel-electric propulsion system," and is a DP2 vessel.
