Stolt Tankers ha firmado un acuerdo con el astillero Wuhu de China para construir seis buques cisterna de acero inoxidable de 38.000 TPM.

Los barcos están diseñados para maximizar la eficiencia del combustible utilizando un diseño de motor moderno, optimización de la forma del casco, una amplia gama de dispositivos de ahorro de energía y conexión eléctrica a tierra, con el beneficio adicional de que también se pueden convertir para una futura propulsión por batería y metanol. Los nuevos barcos tendrán 30 segregaciones de tanques de carga de acero inoxidable que ofrecerán una amplia gama de flexibilidad de carga y reflejarán las necesidades cambiantes de nuestros clientes.

Chinese yard starts building MSC’s LNG-powered containerships

 

 
 
 

 

According to a statement by Zhoushan Changhong, the shipbuilder held a steel-cutting ceremony on Tuesday for two 11,500-teu vessels, CHB 2027 and CHB 2028.

These are the first two LNG-powered vessels Zhoushan Changhong will build for MSC.

MSC first ordered ten LNG dual-fuel 11,500-teu vessels at the shipbuilder and after that added ten LNG dual-fuel 11,300-teu vessels.

CIMC ORIC, a unit of China International Marine Containers (CIMC), designed these containerships.

CIMC is a shareholder in Zhoushan Changhong via its leasing unit.

Zhoushan Changhong said that these two 335 meters long and 45.6 meters wide ships with a design speed of 20 knots will be classed by DNV.

The largest container vessel in South China was delivered for use after it was named MSC NOA ARIEILA in Nansha district in the Guangdong provincial capital on Monday.

MSC NOA ARIEILA, which was jointly built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Co Ltd (GSI) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd, is a massive 366 meters long and 51 meters wide, and it can reach a carrying capacity of 16,616 TEUs, according to a statement released by GSI on Monday.
